Your meditation class download
When you were searching online for a meditation class, you probably weren’t thinking about a download. Of course, being in a class is a unique experience and I fully recommend it. However, sometimes, especially when time is precious or you live far away from a class, an online mindfulness download could just be what you need. In this article I will explain more about meditation is and how the Deep Dive Therapy mindfulness mediation class works.
Why mindfulness meditation?
Mindfulness is actually one of the easiest things to describe. However, putting it in practice is really a lifetime experience and journey. In a sentence, mindfulness meditation is about being present or paying attention to what is happening in the present moment. That may sound simple and straightforward, but it does take some skill.
For example, if I ask you what is going on for you right now? Well, you may answer that you have this or that in your life or a challenge at work or something fun coming up soon in the next weeks. However, in reality, right now, in this present moment what is happening for you? It is simply, for example the experience of breathing in and breathing out.
For me, for example, in this present moment, I can feel that contact of my legs resting on the chair that I’m sitting on. Also, I can also hear sounds outside of traffic and birds too. In other words, it’s about simply becoming more present with sense data. Noticing those things that are unmoving in the present moment, such as breathing in and breathing out.
A daily practice of mindfulness meditation might be, for example, simply always bringing the attention back to breathing in and breathing out. A good question to ask is. “where is my attention right now?” Is my attention with thoughts, memories and anxieties? Could I move my attention to simply notice that feeling of my feet resting on the floor or maybe noticing breathing in and breathing out. This is, in short, what mindfulness meditation is all about.
When you move your attention away from anxieties and thoughts, you calm the nervous system and feel more grounded.
What about meditation classes and retreats?
I first discovered mindfulness meditation through a friend. Initially I read a few books before taking the leap to attend a class and I haven’t looked back. You can find a meditation class that last a few minutes to those of an hour. You may enjoy a whole day and even consider a silent retreat. I now love to attend silent retreats. However, if you are not experienced at meditation, I would not recommend jumping to a whole week of silence too quickly. It is better to build it up slowly adding more meditation time in.
So, I recommend listening to small bursts of meditation. Then you can build that up to an hour or to a day long retreat. Then when you feel more comfortable, it’s really wonderful to experience a few days of silence at a meditation centre. However, the choice of meditation course or centre is important. I have spent many wonderful days of meditation at Gaia House in Devon and there are, of course, many other wonderful places too.
Indeed, you will see, online, many meditation retreats all over the globe. It can be lovely to go on holiday or vacation in order to spend a few days on a retreat. Often retreats will have wonderful vegan or homemade food too! I do recommend you choose carefully and attend the retreat that is right for you and your level of experience and expectations.
Why choose the Deep Dive Therapy meditation class?
Deep dive Therapy mindfulness download is really a short course. It is an introduction to mindfulness meditation. I am a great fan of mindfulness and it’s uses in therapy and as a way to just to feel happier and calmer in daily life. When I help people with addictions such as overeating or alcohol consumption, mindfulness is an important part of that process. Mindfulness is really about being more present with yourself, in the present moment.
The Deep Dive Therapy meditation class is, of course, a self-directed learning experience. The mindfulness course is in 10 parts. Each part is just less than 10 minutes in duration. This makes the download accessible, even for people who are very busy and don’t have much time in their schedule. You can listen to a few recordings at a time. Though it is recommended to listen to one a day. It’s gentle and calming and really about learning how to do mindfulness meditation.
Why not try the mindfulness mediation class today?
An advantage of the download is that you can try out a meditation class in your own time and in your own way. This is great if you’d like to ‘dip your toes into the water’ of this wonderful new practice.
